2016 – 2020, GPA: 3.75, High Distinction
As a member of the DMP I took specialized courses in qualitative research methods and media theory. Over the course of four semesters, I conducted a research project on eating disorders and social media. My final thesis received high distinction. Methods included in-depth interviews, autoethnography, and critical discourse analysis. The study helped contribute to fill crucial gaps in literature on social media use in relation to the illness and recovery from disordered patterns.
In addition to coursework on media and body image, other research interests include social media networking and activism, mass media and American politics, and news media.
Practical media interests pursued throughout coursework and extracurriculars include podcast editing and production & lifestyle and food writing.
